What are Toxins?

What are toxins? What are toxicants?

What Are Toxins: Definition

Toxins are poisonous substances produced by plants, animals or other living organism. In medical terms, a toxin would not include other substances that are toxic or poisonous in nature. These would be known as toxicants or the plural...toxics...is acceptable.

So, venom would be a toxin as would the deadly red tide and any poison produced by a micro-organism that causes illness. The word toxin refers to the source of its production.

Lyme Disease bacteria produce toxins inside our body. These can in time cause damage to nerves and organs resulting in numerous physical problems. Treatment involves not only getting rid of the offending bacteria, but also detoxifying.

Additionally, a toxin would also cause disease. Toxins induce an immune response when present in low concentrations in the body. When the human cells are exposed to a toxin, they begin the production of antibodies.

Toxins can cause disease on contact, when absorbed by body tissues and react with the cells.

An example of a minor Toxins is a bee sting. According to Steadman's Medical Dictionary, tetanus toxin, tetanotoxin; the neurotropic, exotoxin of Clostridium tetani and the cause of tetanus is one of the most poisonous substances known.

The word toxic means any poisonous substance. Some substances, like mercury are toxic to humans, even in small amounts. Additionally, some substances, again like mercury give off gasses which are also toxic.

So, What are Toxicants?

This means that just about everything else that is poisonous is a toxicant. This would include things like mercury, lead and pesticides.

You Say Tomato, I say...

In popular language use, if you ask anyone what are toxins they will say that it is anything poisonous. The more important question, what can we do to protect ourselves, what ever the source of the toxin or toxicant?

How Can I Protect Myself From Toxins and Toxicants?

The most obvious thing we can do is avoid them when ever we can.

Since it is impossible to totally avoid toxins, we also need a diet that helps our body detoxify. This can take several actions. Some foods have cysteine, which when converted to GSH helps detoxify. Some foods help transport the toxins out of our body.

Especially important, managing our fluid intake along with electrolytes (salt)helps to flush the toxins out. The Water Cures Protocol is the oral version of a saline IV and it does just that.

Science has identified numerous neurotoxins. Here are some. This is not a comprehensive list. It includes the more common ones though.

The Way to Make More GSH For Free

Glutathione has a high affinity for water. Simply put, if we are dehydrated our bodies may not make as much as they could. Or, what we do make may be less effective.

Usually there is something more than just being dehydrated. Often there is a condition called fluid and electrolyte imbalance, less than bodies needs. There is a simple, easy and inexpensive way to correct this, allowing your body to produce even more GSH.

The Water Cures Protocol really works. Give it a try today.

It is simple, easy, sustainable and affordable (the salt should cost less than $10 a year).

And like GSH, it will help with over 76 different diseases and conditions.
