Aspartame induced fibromyalgia is yet another reason to avoid artificial sweeteners.

A different study concluded that long term consumption of aspartame leads to hepatocellular (liver) injury and alterations in liver antioxidant status mainly through glutathione dependent system. In other words, it depleted the glutathione, one of the things that helps the body manage and even prevents fibromyalgia.
