There are a number of natural radiation treatments. If you are exposed, this works in harmony with the medical treatments. Do not delay in getting medical treatment first.

This can be done with some common sense and basic lifestyle and dietary changes. It need not be expensive. There is both a natural raw food and supplement way to accomplish this.
You hear a lot about free radicals and the damage they do in the health news. Think of radiation as free radicals on steroids. It is necessary to prevent the free radicals from getting into our bodies tissues. If they should get in, we need to neutralize them. This can be done with either cysteine or cysteine producing foods or supplements.
We get exposed to radiation every day. Out body has a means to deal with and manage the risk it poses to our health. The challenge we face is when we are exposed to more than our body can manage. Once overwhelmed and once the DNA are disrupted, there is little that can be done.

With the 2011 Japan Tsunami Nuclear Disaster, the price of radiation pills went through the roof. The actual cost of a single iodine pill is about 35 cents. Most resellers will have a dose pack that sells for about $10 which is about double the cost of the individual pill at wholesale.
Then the natural disaster brought out the best and worse in people. Some companies donated their entire stock to Japan to be distributed for free. Others raised the price. The most outrageous was an Amazon ad that made the price look as though it was $99 and now reduced to $79. Even E-bay brought out those with a need for greed.

There is another way to protect yourself other than the iodine pill. You should note that the pill is time specific. It does not help if you take it a few days before the exposure but needs to be taken at least several hours before the exposure and every 24 hours until the danger is passed.
The main form of exposure is radioactive iodine.
Iodine is found in a very inexpensive and common food.
Kombu form of kelp is rich in iodine. The problem is that there is a wide range of iodine values posted on the web for sea vegtables. Even the few scientific studies show a variation in iodine values attributed to each type of sea vegetables.
The following is based on a scientific study but we do not know if the information is accurate or not. If there is information on the product, follow that information.
For exposure greater than 5 Gy
Birth to 1 month 16 mg
1 month -3 years 32 mg = about 15 mg of Kombu
3 years through 18 years 65 mg = 30 mg of Kombu
Adolescents weighing more than 150 lbs are encouraged to take adult dose
For Exposures greater than 10 Gy
18 years through 40 yrs. - 130 mg = about 55 mg of Kombu
Exposures greater than 500 cGy:
Adults over 40 yrs - 130 mg = about 55 mg of Kombu
Put another way, a sheet of kombu seaweed contains 150 mg of iodine. And less than a 1/4 teaspoon of kelp contains 150 mg of iodine.
Excessive iodine intake during pregnancy can can cause hypothyroidism in some infants.
Now research is suggesting that Kombu may also have covert T3 and T4 which means that care needs to be used when using sea vegetables if you have a thyroid condition.
Spirulina and chlorella, two types of algae, have cleansing and healing powers. More importantly, they also provide protection from radiation toxicity as well as remove radiation from the body.
Chlorella will neutralize radiation and help the body remove it in addition to other heavy metals and toxins like mercury.
Spirulina was used for the Chernobyl crisis. Children were treated for radiation poisoning using it.
Apples, rich in pectin, are beneficial for cleansing the body of radioactive materials.
The pectin binds to radioactive compounds and helps remove them from bodily tissues and our blood. To get the full benefit of pectin, eat organic apples. Even the chewing will help with processing of the various chemicals.
A substance found in brown seaweed naturally absorbs radioactive elements, heavy metals, and free radicals. It is used in wound dressings although it is still poorly understood by health care professionals.
Alginate has a unique quality in that it can bind heavy metals and radioactive elements to its own molecules. Because the alginate is not broken down in the bile or saliva and is not absorbed by the body, it is eliminated from the body along with the heavy metals and radioactive substances.
Spirulina: a blue green alge that is used as food and as a supplement.
It not only has cysteine, it also has methionine which converts homocysteine to cysteine. It also has other vitamins including numerous co-factors of glutathione production.
Take 5 grams daily throughout the exposure period.
It is interesting that selenium made the lineup. Selenium is a major co-factor of glutathione production. So, is it the selenium or the glutathione that does the magic?
In one study it was found that selenium an essential for normal development, growth, and metabolism in the thyroid.
Also, selenium protects the thyroid from free radicals damage. Selenium deficiency can make worse the effects of iodine deficiency and the same is true for vitamin A or iron deficiency.
It is important to note, selenium needs to be a part of the treatment for all the other things to work. We need 200 mcg of selenium. One Brazil nut has 100 mcg so 2 a day will keep the doctor away.
