The Cholesterol Glutathione Connection
This Cholesterol Glutathione page is just getting started July 7,2009.
Warning, this is not the same information you will find everywhere else. There are some big differences. Differences so vast that I believe that much of what you hear about cholesterol is really a lie. It is not that your doctor is lying to you. He just does not know the evidence based medicine.
Much of what you hear about the way cholesterol is treated is based on flawed science, all because of the profits to be gained.
Even much of what Doctors and Nurses are taught about cholesterol is at variance with evidence based medicine.
A True Story Before getting blood work a nurse was overheard saying, "Do not eat very much meat or fat for the three days before the blood test so that it does not elevate your cholesterol abnormally." The patient went on a carb fast and only ate a high fat protein diet. The result: cholesterol was at the optimal levels. There was a little protein in the urine, as would be expected.
What is the truth about cholesterol?
What is the apo B/A-I ratio.
The cholesterol and glutathione connection is rather exciting. It is something you need to know to attain optimal health.
There is ever new evidence that the old way of looking at cholesterol could cause more harm in some cases.
The desirable total cholesterol level is < 200
The bad LDL should be less than 130
HDL, the good cholesterol desirable level HDL above 60
High levels of HDL seems to protect the heart from heart attack. About one-fourth to one-third of blood cholesterol is carried by high-density lipoprotein (HDL). Low levels of HDL (less than 40 mg/dL) seemed to increase the risk of heart disease.
The latest information concluded...that "the apo B/A-I ratio was the most important risk factor... Now new data from the long-term follow-up of a prospective trial and analysis of major clinical trials of lipid-lowering therapy show that the predictive power of the apo B/A-I ratio is superior to, and cannot be improved by adding, any other lipid parameter or ratio."
