The Cataracts Symptoms Treatment
Cysteine and Glutathione
Cataracts symptoms treatment can be found in boosting your intercellular glutathione.
Cataract eye disease is a clouding that develops in the lens of the eye or within the envelope. It can be slight to complete opacity. A common disease of aging, it has an interesting side effect. The focal power of the cornea may increase resulting in near-sightedness. A gradual yellowing and still becoming opaque may reduce the ability to see blue colors. Cataracts can cause blindness if untreated.
Could This Be The Natural Cure for Cataracts?
The natural cure for cataracts symptoms treatment involves helping the body do what it does naturally.
There are several interesting scientific studies by doctors on cataracts and glutathione.
Studies show an important way to prevent cataracts, boosting inter-ocular glutathione.
Glutathione may be absorbed by the eyes. We know the lungs absorb glutathione as well as cysteine. It appears the eyes do too.
Cataract surgery has some serious side effects that are rarely publicized.
In a 1998 look back, 1.35 million cataract operations were performed annually in the US at a cost of 3.5 billion US dollars.
Many scientist feel that surgery may not be the optimal solution. Cataract surgery is considered a safe operation however the complications associated with this surgical procedure are noteworthy.
Cataract Surgery Complications
The lens capsule can become more opaque in 30-50% of patients in the first 2 years from cataract removal. No problem, you can get further treatment with laser to correct this.
Then about 0.8 percent of patients will experience retinal detachments. This is probably considered clinically insignificant, that is unless you were one of the 0.8 percent.
Another 1 percent end up in the hospital again with corneal problems, and about 0.1 percent develop an inflammation of the inter-ocular cavities called endophthalmitis.
What if there was an option that prevented the risk of complications. Wait, stop, before you go any further, this still needs to be supervised by a doctor. Only a doctor can tell if the disease is progressing or not.
Some have found much to their and their doctors surprise that it has worked and prevented the need for surgery. If you have tried it and it did not work, please let us know. We want to share any information. So far, all we are hearing is good news.
Cataracts Symptoms Treatments
Here are the studies and a condensed version of the abstracts.
This study looked at the Glutathione Connection
The study said...
Recently, we discovered that this early oxidative damage in protein thiols could be spontaneously reversed in H2O2 pretreated lenses if the oxidant was removed in time.
Although TTase required GSH for its activity, TTase was far more efficient in dethiolating lens proteins than GSH alone. It favored PSSG over PSSC and dethiolated gamma-crystallin-S-S-G better than the alpha-crystallin counterparts.
Alpha-crystallin is considered the eye antioxidant. This is saying that by boosting the glutathione the other thing is better. Things that make you go hmmmmmm.
Ok, in plain English. Glutathione helps the TTase stuff work better than the Alpha-crystallin which is supposed to be the main cataract fighter. Boost glutathione and your boost protection or potential curative effects.
The next study looks at one key to the cataracts symptoms treatment....
The Cause of Cataracts: Not Aging
Age-related nuclear cataract-oxidation is the key. said...
Age ...biggest risk factor for cataract...is assumed... an amplification of this aging process. This appears not to be the case, since lens changes associated with aging and cataract are distinct.
Oxidation is the hallmark of age-related nuclear (ARN) cataract. By contrast, there may be no significant oxidation of proteins in the center of the lens with advancing age, even past age 80. The key factor in preventing oxidation seems to be the concentration of nuclear glutathione (GSH).
In English: Lack of glutathione is the cause of cataracts and not aging.
This 1998 study has some interesting read between the lines things to make you think about what meds you choose to take, even though they claim to be safe.
Prevention of acetaminophen-induced cataract using N-acetylcysteine and some other stuff. Zhao C, Shichi H.
The study explains how mice were given acetaminophen (APAP) to produce acute cataract and other ocular tissue damage. Treatment of the mice with one of the major organosulfides in garlic oil, diallyl disulfide (DADS), prevented cataract development and prolonged survival time. N-acetyl L-cysteine (NAC), a prodrug that stimulates glutathione synthesis, also prolonged survival time but was effective only weakly to prevent cataract formation.
How to Prevent Cataracts
By combining the two, the result was to completely prevent cataracts from forming.
In English: NAC and some part of Garlic Juice works to prevent cataracts that were caused by overdosing mice with APAP.
This essentially points to NAC (the chemical version of cysteine) and garlic being preventative for cataracts and a natural cataracts symptoms treatment.
The last study had an interesting conclusion...
The PURPOSE: Evaluate the effect of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) and glutathione ethyl ester (GSH-EE) eye drops on the progression of diabetic cataract formation induced by streptozotocin (STZ).
CONCLUSIONS: NAC and GSH-EE can slightly inhibit the progression of the diabetic cataract at the earlier stage. They may maintain lens transparency and function by serving as a precursor for glutathione biosynthesis and by protecting sulfhydryl groups from oxidation.
The protection of sulfhydryl groups is the interesting part. Glutathione is bonded together by a sulfhydryl.
Is boosting your intercellular glutathione a viable treatment, even a natural cure for cataract disease? There is no hard science nor studies to prove that it helps with cataract eye disease or not. The studies do all show the same thing, a reduction of glutathione in and around the affected parts of the eye.
If a doctor follows you and it works, what do you have to lose vs. what do you have to gain when it comes to the cataracts symptoms treatment.
